Bone Paper Clay
In my work, The End of Friday Night, I combine how I feel when wearing makeup and female standards. After watching how my facial features look when I clean up my makeup, I became interested in how makeup gives us a different perception of our natural beauty. Using clay, I decided to sculpt a bathroom sink and facial features to represent those ideas. I constructed this piece through coiling and carving techniques to make it look the most realistic to the objects I decided to portray. I kept a simple color scheme based on their nude colors and a little bit of clear glaze to emphasize aspects like the water feeling and facial features
